For the first time its 100-year existence, San Diego Marine Corps boot camp will train female recruits in 2021, after Congress mandated last year that the Marines' two boot camps must become integrated. Prior to the mandate, females trained separately on the East Coast. About 60 women are expected to attend recruit training in San Diego. Best of luck to everyone!

I think it's a good move in the right direction. Ladies need to be trained in the mountains, experience that hot California sun.

Remember Mount Mother F*ucker at Camp Pendleton?! It was one hot MF day when we made that hike. Two or three recruits from our platoon passed out that day on the way up that hill. I remember it like it was yesterday even though it was almost a half century ago. Damn, time passes fast!

Chris Meek Since women become Marines at Parris Island, attending Boot Camp at MCRD, San Diego will not be an issue.
