Pure Genius. How many miles of road are floating in the Great Pacific Garbage Patch that is twice the size of Texas?
However, I wager thevUS won’t do it. The shoddy building and paving of US roads has as much to do with keeping the road building industry employed as it does with the public service it provides. Same with badly designed roads systems that need improvement as soon as they’re built. Same reason cars aren’t built to last. It’s all about $$$, not long term durability.

I was in Singapore in the early 90’s. One Friday, we were leaving the Military base and see a sing that a new on-ramp would be constructed. We groaned about how screwed traffic would be the following Monday.
On Monday, the ramp was built and fully functional.
Meanwhile, here in Beverly Hills the construction adding lanes to Santa Monica Blvd has been going on forever with little visible progress.
