There were many strange things in the Army in years past. I met a fellow whose dad was a General, he told me there was a senior NCO assigned to his family and he was called a “striker”. His job was to help the Generals wife with house maintenance, do chores and help to manage unruly children etc. Could you imagine a Dril Sargent as a sorta tutor.

LTC David Brown Last Time I Heard (Too this Day) When You Attain Flag Rank (Admiral) You're Assigned a Cook (Mess Specialist in My Day Now Called Culinary Specialist) and a Master at Arms (Cop, In My Day Master at Arms could be a Job Specialty or a Collateral Duty) After I Became SPAWARS 6211 The Skippers Assistant came down to My Office and Handed Me a Badge "What the Hell is this for?" "You're Now MAA for Chief of Staff" "Shit!" Yes I was CTO1 and MAA to a Rear Admiral. LOL!
