I've always been partial to the Boomtown Rats. I heard Rat Trap while watching Mad Magazine's Up the Academy. It fit perfectly with my life at the time. Then came their album The Fine Art of Surfacing (for my money, their finest effort) and the single I Don't Like Mondays.
Over the past few years, I have gotten into Flogging Molly; I came late to The Pogues, and I really am liking The Tossers.

I am very familiar with Rory Gallagher and passingly familiar with Them where Van Morrison "started out" Maj Marty Hogan
I listened to Thin Lizzy in the mid-1970s and enjoyed U-2 since I first heard their LP War.
