Absolutely one of the best show's I have ever watched. I was pretty disappointed with the companion series, The Pacific, though.

IMHO, both series were good. Band of Brothers focused on the small team versus the The Pacific did the same and focused on MOH winner John Basilone. Different conditions, yet both series showed the intense fighting. Comparing the two side by side would be tough; they both stand by themselves.

I suppose I find the European theater strategy much more fascinating to read/watch than the Asian theater. Perhaps one day I will give it a second chance to change my opinion.

CPT (Join to see) - I'm not sure that's what it was. It seems like The Pacific was made as an after thought. When you watched The Band of Brothers you felt the pain, the, the love, the deep sadness: but in the Pacific it just felt like it was a series that "they had to do." Like we did the European piece now come on we have to try to make this one look good, but nobody had any heart left to put into it.

SSG Michael McKiel - I think you are right on target. In the original series, they really developed the plot in a way to learn the personalities of each person and it made the feeling of war so much more real as it relates to that person. From Winters and all his composed moments in the heat of battle to Plithe and his fear during his first engagement. So many times I shouted at the TV in cheer or anger despite watching the series at least five times. Lol

Once sevl yrs ago, my wife and I drove to Hershey PA , shed wanted to see the Hershey factory, great chocolate aroma as you drive up to it, lol. Anyway, we'd stayed over at a place nearby, that apparently had a reunion going on, that I think was of army airborne vets from ww2, and I do quite honestly think I recall actually seeing Maj dick winters there while we were there. I could be wrong, I know, however, I'd seen him in the show as he was at that age, and, in retrospect, I do honestly think it might well have been him. Just thought I'd mention it, hope was of interest, as I say, I might have been wrong, certainly, purely an afterthought, I didn't know who he was, of course, at that moment, obviously, many thanks.
