It would not shock me, but the propaganda has been great. We went from every citizen in the cities are making Molotov cocktails, and will burn you to death, to they are committing war crimes shooting civilians. We might know some day the truth behind it all, but if your worried about people throwing Molotov's on your head, you would shoot at anyone you see in a window. I have read in the past that Russia tends to kill all the military age men in area's they move into. But have no idea whats true or not true the past few months. The Ukrainians seem to have also taken a huge toll on them, I suspect after being ambushed and attacked in surprise attacks now for two months, the average Russian soldier is not feeling real warm and fuzzy towards the other side, even if they surrender.

Add rules of war to the things like tactics that the average Russian soldier isn't taught.

Man's maltreatment of fellow men will never end. Dictators will always find ways to bend the truth and avoid laws in conflict with their goals. As we have seen with laws against murder, theft and others, laws offer minimal deterrence. Without enforcement, laws offer no deterrence. The UN has shown no teeth in the current situation and many prior.

If you are dealing with a dictator.. they make the law... So they don't need to bend anything as reality is as they say it is.. It's the rule of the iron throne... He who site on the throne makes the rules.
