That's an odd one to be sure. I guess we'll see what comes of the investigation. Piqued my curiosity, that's for sure.

While on a similar, though not exactly related note, I had an experience in training once that gives me a bit of a feel for what these guys may have experienced. We were out near WSMR for training and our whole platoon went down for an entire day because our water buffalo wasn't cleaned properly, and as a consequence we all got sick; like, simultaneously firing out of both barrels kind of sick, if you know what I mean. We just hunkered down, put a pin in training for the day and wallowed in our collective misery. Yeah, fun.

I got MRSA in Iraq on my second deployment...but I didn't find out until I got home for R&R and went to the VA hospital where my mom lives. I had developed two boils on my abdomen after I had gotten really sick. The worst sore throat of my life. I went to the PA. I should have told the medics and PA about the boils but we didn't have the brightest medics at the time. I probably would have gone home sooner on R&R had I told them in hindsight. The PA gave me penicillin for the sore throat. She said it was pharangytis (sp). Went home - doc swabbed the big holes I had from the boils coming to a head. Emailed me within the week it was MRSA. I didn't know what that was then. Googled it. Shit I could have died from it. Upped my medication to malaria pills basically. And then I had to clean the holes with 2 TBSP salt water (boiled) with iodine. That hurt. So R&R spent at my dad's on the couch most of it since MRSA is contagious...and then found out when I got back there had been 5 cases before that in our BN and the medics never put it out.

Antifreeze is the current report and it will kill your kidneys with an uncomfortable death. This was likely very diliberate.

There are a lot of rumors flying around in El Paso right now. Let's wait until the investigation has been completed, rather than speculate what might have happened.

I didn't speculate. I copied that paragraph from the article. I thought it was probably a relevant share.
