The Tacoma Freedom Fair is a mile and half of music with 8 stages, car show, air show, kidz zone, tons of food, plenty of vendors and loads of fun for FREE! Camp Patriot (largest section) of the Tacoma Freedom Fair is specifically for Veterans and Service Members. I went last year. Take bottled water as it was unusually hot. Parking is tight, so get there early or be prepared to walk a few blocks. Events all day and rides for the little ones.

I missed out on last years events, but I had just PCS'd from Fort Irwin and didnt think it was too bad out there...lol.
