"Traditional Marriage" is such a bogus term if you look at history. It wasn't that long ago that arranged marriages and child marriages were common in the U.S.

I've always said that the government should stay out of the business of marriage, that it's a fundamentally religious institution and who you marry should not be of any concern to the state. That said, if the government does insist on regulating and controlling marriage it CANNOT discriminate.

CPT Jack Durish - One recenti-ish example is Jerry Lee Lewis' third (of five) marriage, to his cousin, when she was 13. It wasn't particularly scandalous at the time.

Much more recent and more scandalous you still see girls younger than 15 getting married today in the U.S. Happening often enough that they are changing laws to prevent it.

PO2 Robert Aitchison - The fact that such marriages are scandalous is proof positive that they are not a cultural norm in America. However, they are in many parts of the world.

Why don't you take your hate elsewhere. Seriously. Nobody here wants you to state your bigoted opinion like its fact. Truth is, I 'm just as much a proud Veteran as you, and I couldn't be happier about same-sex marriage. And, I could give a crap less about the so-called Christians who oppose it. You're kind are a vintage model, and you're rusting away quickly.

Agreed. My sister and her wife are very happy together, and very good for each other. I never could figure out why this was supposed to be a bad thing, and ended up leaving the church I grew up in over it.

COL Ted Mc has a penchant for sarcasm; see the tin foil hat remark. He has, however, not seemed to learn that it doesn't come across well in text. Either that or he doesn't care if you notice or not.

MSgt Michael Smith - Master Sergeant; It probably would have helped you out if you had not stopped reading before you got to the "tinfoil hat" bit.

Blah, more of this "Traditional Marriage" Non sense. You do realize that the there is NO such thing, that's marriage is an indefinable term, and that your "traditions" are outdated.

All traditions change over time, (Yes, even those associated with faith do) and we are in an amazing time where we are starting to see change happen all around us. If someone chooses to scurry away from that change and live in fear then so be it, the sky may be falling in your world, but in ours not in ours. You are always welcome to join us
