In contrast to the FBI Director's personal criticism of Hillary Clinton's "carelessness" in handling three low level CONFIDENTIAL emails . . . the NY Attorney General is charging a consistent pattern of persistently pervasive fraud committed over many years by Donald Trump and his minions at Trump University. Per the NY Attorney General . . . "The law is very clear. The law protects the gullible as well as the sophisticated. As we've seen over the course of the last year, there are a lot of people who fall for Mr. Trump's promises. . . . If you look at the facts of this case, this shows someone who was absolutely shameless in his willingness to lie to people, to say whatever it took to induce them into his phony seminars. . . . Telling people who are in hard economic times -- we're talking about 2008, 2009 -- people desperate to hold onto their homes, to make some money, convincing them that he will teach them his entrepreneurial secrets. Thousands of people were bilked out of millions of dollars. This is straight up fraud."
I may be naive . . . but I don't want young women growing up to believe that a man defrauding thousands of people out of millions of dollars can be elected President of the United States . . . while simultaneously screaming that his female opposition is unqualified because she is lying.

Nothing political in this declaration. I especially liked the mention of "minions". Not the least bit pejorative.
1LT Sandy Annala Good luck. I've cited this as an example that both are criminals, and found many denizens of RallyPoint rallying to Trump's defense. Also amazing is their willingness to repeatedly forgive his clear lack of respect for those of us in the profession of arms. Comments he has made are inexplicably tolerated when similar ones from someone with a D after their name would get them verbally pilloried here.

1. I do recall what was said about waterboarding. I am also aware of what some might call cavalier response from certain military members, about how "we won't obey his orders". When given unlawful orders, absolutely. And you have always had that right, and responsibility. It doesn't change with the administration. But I would be careful about the message that sends, as well. By no means does that give free reign for military to go into their first term with Trump, believing they no longer have to do what he says - because of what he said during his campaign season. Some are already aligned with that posture. That would be an especially dangerous situation for a Captain. I would definitely recommend plausible deniability and let the colonels and generals do the heavy lifting as far as that goes.
[If you think a purge took place with Obama, I propose that you haven't seen anything yet. Don't worry about the interrogator / "waterboarding stuff". The CIA will take care of that. ]
2. I do recall the encounter with Senator McCain, and the captured commentary. That was wrong, but personal. Not a reflection against the entire military.
3. "I always felt like I was in the military" - well, to him, someone who had nothing to compare it to - it certainly did. But no where is it written that he cannot explain his feelings at the time, nor is it required for a commander in chief to be military, present or ex-.
4. "I will be the best at the military - based on?". What do you expect a presidential candidate to say? "I will suck as your commander in chief"?
He has made a lot of progress, especially with his "presidential-ness". His skill of talking open, honestly, and without regret, is maturing as we speak.
The only person uniquely and properly qualified to serve as president and commander in chief, is someone who has served already. Not one person has the perfect experiences and qualifications for the job - that actually can run and win. Fortunately the constitution comes with limitations in term. The idealists and perfectionists will always be let down.

SSgt W. Aaron Gregory Great and thoughtful responses. Thanks for providing them ( I genuinely mean that). I appreciate your points on moderation. I don't really have rejoinders , my thoughts on his words and the attitudes they imply still stand, although I'll give you some ground on points 3 and 4. Your final point is excellent. I would argue executive government leadership is generally the best preparation, Governors have a strong history heading to the white house. With that in mind perhaps you'd be interested in thinking about the policy positions of my preferred candidate: Gary Johnson?

Capt Richard I P. - Thanks. I am very fickle on how politicians think about the military. Often, I will ditch someone based on how they treat the military, and the VA. You have to know Trump.... in Trump's defense... he often speaks first to win an argument, and second to appeal to the right cause. I think he is getting better at that.
Your point on governors... YES. They are our mini-presidents, and with the exception of less foreign affairs experience, I think are shoe-ins. It is indeed executive experience. We have to find one, that can win - that wants the job.
I would have voted Gary Johnson 8 years ago. I would LOVE to vote for Gary Johnson, just to send a statement to the establishment, AND Clinton and Trump. I just don't think he can win. I think that he would distract too much, and possibly let in a more successful Clinton win. Libertarians come from both the U.S. left and right "votership". I have to do what I feel is right.. the best scenario for me, anyways, is to vote strategically in order to keep Hillary out.

This kinda reminded me of Donald Trump's single minded behavior in this campaign. He appears to make no effort to debate goals, objectives, policies, or future directions . . . he only seeks to engage in name calling and asking his volunteer minions to eliminate his opposition by any means necessary - including assault, incarceration, firing squad, murder, being launched into outer space, or being launched into the sun.
