“does not discredit Mr. Bissonnette’s military service, but reinforces that it is important for our service members and individuals who have been assigned positions of trust and granted access to classified information to comply with the obligations set forth in their non-disclosure agreements,”

Tough shit Mr. "Owens".
He knew what he was doing was wrong when he did it. If he can do it, why can't everybody?
He's lucky he isn't spending the rest of his life in prison.

Navy Seals are supposed to be the silent professionals. They sign non disclosure agreements to not discuss any operations that they participate in. So a lot of Seal personnel are pretty upset about these books being written because it looks like these former Seals are just trying to cash in with their five minutes of fame. Any memoirs written are supposed to be approved by the Department of the Navy. This book wasn't so that's probably why he is being penalized.
