Protests delay National Energy Board's hearings on Energy East pipeline

Canadian Protestor (one resembling Michael Moore) distrupted hearing on a proposal to convert a natural gas pipeline and rebuild it to ship oil east to a port. I wonder if we had this kind of activism before the Alaska Pipeline was built? I wonder if the protestors are paid by Russia, Iran or Saudi Arabia since we end up buying oil from tryrants. I read this in the Canadian paper.

Smelly hippies are probably paid by the railroad and teamster unions. The oil's still going to get moved by some means. I guess they'd rather have random oil spills all over the place via rail or truck. If it was in a pipeline, you'd know within a few yards of where a leak/spill has occurred.

Hippies, Hollywood druggies and drunks also hurt the industry. The good idea fairies are supported by guys like Neil Young (who is also Canadian and an activist) but I doubt they are driving around in a Prius or a volt or taking the train or a bus like Amish do. I am sure they fly(maybe even have their own private jet) and have large SUVs to go to each protest. They have, along with the POTUS and some Native tribes, blocked the pipeline to the USA (Keystone) and blocked the pipeline west to British Columbia and now the Pipeline East. Yes, it goes on rail cars and Canada has to sell it at a discount yet Russia, Iran, Venezuela and other OPEC members who don't follow Kyoto and other agreements (like Iraq) sell the oil while the Good idea environmental fairies block progress. This hurts national security and costs people jobs.

I read the paper when I am on a lunch break. The nationalpost.com paper has commentary about Canada and the USA that I share here on RP because the 2nd and 3rd order of affects of Keystone XL pipleline being stopped and the Saudi and Iran flooding of the oil market has shut down oil production in the USA and Canada. Our province had a 5 billion dollars rainy-day fund 2 years ago. Now its 11 billion in the red. It is a deep receession here and a deep depression in the oil sands area.

I live in Canada so I see stuff that I hope will not be the trend in the USA that I lived in until 2006. Is this the case in the USA where the School Principal or the School District puts out an SOP where kids will not be failed and instead get 'incomplete' to not hurt their feelings? Is this the same group that gives trophies out to all kids to avoid the same peril?

I can't believe that. If a student isn't doing anything,then they SHOULD get a zero. This trend of punishing teachers for doing their jobs will lead to the collapse of the western educational system (not that it needed any help).

Turkey and Russia are unlikely allies on the war against ISIL. Very soon, Russia may be sharing Incirlik AFB, Turkey with the USAF. What do you think? I hope we don't have Russian FSB men dressed as mechanics or pilots getting lost on our side of the base.

Col (Join to see) - Guys with PHDs like you out of a job..really sad! We have houses forclosing everywhere and those oil professionals selling their new cars and boats. They would work for about 2 weeks then get 5 days off and live here in Edmonton and then go back up north to Fort McMurray and they just had a fire a few months back shutting down production and destroying part of the city. 80k displaced persons came to Edmonton for a few weeks until the town was reopened.
