Spring of '66, I was in an Austin Healy with three fraternity brothers from Alpha Phi Omega at then San Jose State College cruising the Santa Cruz Boardwalk. Up ahead were about a dozen young ladies clustered around an average looking guy leaning against a flat black convertible. When he got in and turned it over you could feel the vibration all the way up the block.......the girls were in ecstasy and no time for anyone else. Turns out it was a gift from his dad......I know because he and I were one the same boot camp company a few months later in San Diego.
