This is the first time that I see that the Russians are on the Defensive within Russia.
Some Ukrainian troops have a small bulge ( captured area) inside Russia. It is psychologically significant, but it doesn't mean that Russia is finished
This will probably take pressure off other areas of Ukraine being invaded by Russia. Ukraine is not
winning decisivly, but it is putting pressure on Russia.
Russia has lost so many tanks ( Thanks to American, German and Canadian tanks/AFVs and anti-tank tank bazooka/ Anti-Tank guided missiles like (ATGMs) Javelin or Gustav types)that the near-tankless Russians are taking tanks out of storage or off of military base front gates that were built-in the 1950s or 1960s.
Russia is also using prisoners to fight because many Young russians have fled ussia because they don't want to be conscripted into a war that they'll probably not come back from.
Some of this may be old footage but there is some truth. Russia is paying heavily for every kilometer they gain from Ukraine.

MAJ Byron Oyler - Lol, yes I think we all can hope we never have to be in a war like WW I (or WW II for that matter) again from a death perspective, US or otherwise.
Now if we want to pick random wars out of the air from arbitrary time periods, the US war with the most US deaths was during a Republican administration. That being the Civil War. But that is as useful as pointing out what party was in charge for WW I and WW II. All three of those are generally considered "good" and "necessary" wars.

SPC Kevin Ford - Not long after I returned from Afghanistan I had an instructor in my graduate program assign the topic of 'Just War.' She did not like my attitude as there is no just war and I found another instructor. Roosevelt was inaugurated the same year and month as Hitler, we knew what the Germans were up to, and he did nothing. Truman cut the military and Chairmen Kim went through Moscow and Beijing before attacking South Korea. I truly believe foreign powers do not mess with the US when the GOP is in the White House is because they know it will not be tolerated.

"Military experts have slammed officials for not detecting excursions"... They should have expected this and been prepared. You can't have a war and expect the other guy to only fight on their turf. An excursions was only a matter of when - not a possibility!
