I'm proud of our Veterans who are going out there to stand with First Americans and for the environment. I pray they can help change the dynamic between law enforcement and the national guard and the water protectors.

Leave it to Veterans to lend a hand. I read the article and am missing the part the spokesman referred to as the militarized police action being in-Constitutional though. I never understood the whole militarization argument either. Law enforcement has armed up since the shootout in LA many years ago - where bank robbers in full body armor firing fully auto AK-47's held cops with handguns at bay for quite awhile. Those LA cops had to go to a local Sporting Goods store for rifles because they had no comparable weapons. Since the bad guys don't play by the rules, do we expect the police to not equip themselves accordingly? Are they talking about camo uniforms, armored SWAT vehicles, tear gas and flash bangs? Since they are not active duty the restrictions of posse comitatus aren't being violated. Militarized to me would mean tactical formations, tanks, machine guns, attack helicopters, mortars, frag grenades and so forth. Waco, TX comes to mind. If the protesters are in violation of a court order then what limitations are placed on the officials upholding it with respect to Constitution? Not saying they are in violation, just asking. If anybody can explain it please do, because I must be missing something here. I don't disagree with the cause, only the concepts referred to above. Thanks for sharing as I'd imagine we'll be hearing more about this.
