Now we are posting Conway. Good job. Automotive BS session. One of my very favorite.
Ordered a first ever new automobile for me in 71. A brand new super stock air induction 440 Six Pack Dodge Charger while still in service. Yes, continue to have her. Which is more than can be said for all the girls that went for the ride of their life in a true machine built for one thing. Well , maybe two things. A lot of fun. Best recorded 1/4 mile high 12's. Top end through radar 172. All special order power , transmission with cooler auto shift and dealer add on package trick parts. No power anything except horsepower. Stripes delete gun metal gray.

The Challenger uses the same suspension and frame as the since 2006 Charger. PO1 Crafton mention the 305 HP V6 will get the job done even with the extra 157 pounds for AWD. What a great feature for some. Sales will dictate the addition of V8 power. Charger had AWD with the 5.7. Never handled one. The 5.7 ( 343 cubic inches ) police would outrun the police Impala and police Ford 1/4 mile to top end and back. Then there was the availible 6.1 now 6.2 versions. Bow ties 2 and 4 seat and Ford no room mustangs are playing catch up with the Challenger Hellcat and now the Demon. The Demon will be the only ever, read ever, 9 second range 1/4 mile production vehicle. Only lotto money can help me now. True you need the track package and 100% octane to achieve the 9 seconds bracket but with out you get the high 10 second !/4 mile. As P03 Wagner mention with plenty of leg room should do well.

Appreciate the new intel on the Challenger GT AWD.

Couple weeks ago I had also put in the intel on how to modify a Hellcat to be as fast as a demon done by some other aftermarket company. I'm also happy to see that the Vin Diesel Dodge Demon looks very similar to my wife's car had a cold months back I put the Dodge Demon against the top of the line Tesla and the Tesla Beat It by 1/10 second in the quarter mile LOL

The car is already a boat without an AWD drivetrain and I can't imagine how sluggish it will be with one. Perhaps it will be similar to a Suburban or Tahoe? Definitely not my cup of tea but I am used to higher end vehicles anyway.

MSG (Join to see) - the Dodge Challenger actually handles pretty damn good because of the 50 series tires and the wide rims. The car definitely handles better than my 1967 Olds Cutlass Supreme that had front and rear sway bars that I added. Consumer Reports even gave the 2015 Challenger V6 model 71 out of a hundred I think it gave the V8 version 74 out of a hundred. It may not pull one g on the skidpad but for a daily driver it's pretty good. I grew up with having positraction rear end V8 muscle car and it's scary. So when the V6 break some loose without even trying in the snow I know what to do.

MSG (Join to see) - also the vision on the Dodge Challenger is better than the Camaro and better then the Mustang in the front. Yes, you do have the blind spots because of the pillar and I don't have the proximity sensors that can be ordered so it'll warn you if there's someone in your blind spot. I like The Styling because if you I've noticed that jaguars and Ford Tauruses look the same and even the Bentley sort of copies off the Mustang so it seems like all these damn auto designers go to Newport Beach and copy each other and nobody really has a car that stands out because many of them seem the same.

Sir, I believe your definition of good handling versus mine is vastly different. If you take to social media, you will discover that a lot of people complain about the Challenger's handling. As a matter of fact, the problem is it lacks the control, handling, light weight, and low center of gravity that the current generation Camaro and Mustang possess. Moreover, I've driven all three cars and the Challenger is dead last and would be walked on a road course.

Lastly, from a daily driver standpoint, I think any car can do well. Anything beyond that is uninspiring.

MSG (Join to see) - It's a poor carpenter that blames his tools..lol
When I drive my 77 dodge...even with the torsion bars cranked down so hard they are begging for mercy..I am immediately reminded of the improvements in handling that have been incorporated in the last 40 years. It was seat of the pants and more balls than brains to run the. Up way over 100mph. And you had better have your shit together in the curves. That..if nothing else has changed..and that is why old men can outdrive these young punks any day of the week.

Cpl Gabriel F. - I am! But due to my advanced age...and somewhat wise and serendipitous thinking...And! Since I broke my left leg in November..I have no gears to Jam. I have a transmission which the military figured was good enough for their 2000 hp M1 Abrams Tank. "Allison. There is no substitute!"
