LCDR (Join to see) 3-D printing is a neat way to get spare plastic parts, at a reduced cost, but my questions is what is the quality of the plastic.? Will it meet requirements (MILSPECS) as far as strength and durability? Even something a simple as a wiring harness, must be made to withstand the environment it will be placed into and withstand forces it would not see on the ground!

My understanding is that some of these wires that feed the printers can get pretty exotic with the ability to lay down carbon fiber between layers so I would think the parts could be very strong.

LCDR (Join to see) - I guess I am out of my relm, as usual! I did see that someone was producing handguns with a 3-D printer. I would have to guess that excludes the Barrel, receiver, and ammo of course and maybe some of the springs?
