The dilemma looming largest on the military horizon, will our President and Congress force the inclusion of "buyer beware" as a disclaimer warning future recruits, "the truth changes" in relation to benefits promised."

Yes, based upon what we're seeing with Healthcare for Americans in general I'm not optimistic on TRICAREs future for new recruits.

Interesting read! Thanks for the pass along John! The legislation needs to stop playing with the careers and lives of those currently serving and make the changes affective to all those whom are joining by said date! They continue to remove or modify promised benefits of those whom have long since retired or near retirement and it is quite unsettling! Makes this retiree sick to see his own retiree parents benefits continue to wither away by the stroke of a pen of but a few non-veterans making new laws to promote their own agendas! I have a few choice words of which I will refrain.

Of Course! Biggest change is if you have TRICARE Standard you will have to sign up and pay a premium. Name changes to TRICARE Select but need to spread word that you won't be automatically enrolled, must sign up.

Lt Col John (Jack) Christensen - It's just not right! Thank goodness my kids are grown and I don't' have to keep them on Tricare...and I go straight through the VA and don't bother with Tricare....My parents have Tricare and Medicare so between them, they are fully covered...Thanks for the info.

Ya, another promise broken. If you use TRICARE Prime or TFL & Medicare there are no changes but those who just have TRICARE Standard will now be saddled with paying a premium along with enrolling, something entirely new for them. Fortunately most doctors view TRICARE as a Cadillac of health coverage and given all the turmoil in healthcare these days guess we should be happy about that.
