@SGT Thomas Lucken 1954 Arrivals did 16 month tours with 2 each, 1 week R & Rs to Japan. The NCO Club manager, (I declined the position, I was aware of my lack of cleverness), took an R & R to Hong Kong!

Yeah, friend of mine, Bill Haller, did a 16 month tour in 55-56 with the 24th ID..... BTW, Bill is a retired MLB Umpire..... Famed for being recorded in his cussing match with Earl Weaver in 1980..... :-)

Wasn't there a Tom Haller who was a Dodger catcher after John Rosboro and Cannizzaro? I am not a big fan, those names seem to remain in my memory!

CSM Charles Hayden - Yes, that was Bill's brother. Tom died in the 90s.... In fact Bill and Tom are in the record book as the only time brothers been behind the plate together in the MLB; Tom caught and Bill was umping..... :-)

I remember when soldiers dropped their trays at the chow hall, everyone and their mother would yell, "TURTLE!" Regardless of how long you still had being in-country! Fun times @ Camp Casey!
