I was often chastised on the Range, during my Deputy Sheriff days, for only shooting on round per metal target. We were instructed to double tap the metal targets. I saw several times when folks with .38 cal and 9mm had to shoot three or more rounds at a metal target to get it to go down. When I fired my .45 colt at the targets it only took one round to do the same take down. My mindset was, why waste ammo in a firefight when there may be multiple targets? Less reloading time that way.
