The Marines selected this one... so it shouldn’t be an AR-15/M-16 fiasco like Vietnam gave us...

10-4 on that Wayne. They were cute but not effective when they got dirty, which was all the time.

An earlier article said that since the rifle is more accurate than the M4, it will allow Marines to use less ammo while engaging the target. I seriously doubt that anything will ever keep Marines from using less ammo on any target, seen or unseen. But it was given as a point in favor of the weapon by the brass.

Thanks for sharing SGT (Join to see) that the USMC has launched a competition for a new infantry rifle.
Hopefully the USMC and US Army conventional forces are working in tandem to develop a weapon which meets the requirements of both services which would simplify the supply chain including ammunition, maintenance, parts and training.
