SPC James Neidig I did as my Dad brought me up teaching me all about guns, shooting , hunting and being very savvy in the out doors, but Viet Nam changed everything. Today I don't have the will or physical ability, due to all of my disabilities, to shoot anything. But I do enjoy hearing stories like yours and have also enjoyed my fair share of venison. By the way, and you have had some great hunts, but I guess my most interesting one was in VN while I had regular missions with the Korean Special Forces (masterful fighters and tougher than nails) my Crew would take the Chopper and we would hunt for Peacocks for them (not very sportsmen like with an M-60 but sharpened your shooting skills). They loved eating them and now that I think of it I should have eaten some with them because I'm sure it would have been a lot better than the C-Rations where the paint on the lid would go in the can when you opened it with a P-38. I bet none of the paint was lead free back then either. Oh well, never thought of it that way but if Charlie didn't kill you the paint from your C-Rations would from lead poisoning.
