I hope you got copies before to left active duty. If not I still think it’s smarter to get s copy of your medical records

Yes. It surprised me when I went through my records, especially early ones, that I had forgotten about injuries and ailments that I encountered and simply forgotten about. It's also imperative that you file BEFORE leaving service under the BDD or IDES program. It eliminates one of the three legal requirements for service connection, referred to as a nexus in legal parlance.
