Meh.
The article contains no criteria by which any given gun may or may not make the "cut" as a "best semiautomatic handgun on the planet". As such, the article is just one author's opinion.
Well...it DOES say at the end of the first paragraph "...here are the five most deadly semiautomatic handguns on the U.S. market." So which is it? "Best semiautomatic handguns on the planet" or "deadliest semiautomatic handguns on the U.S. market"?
Personally, much as I like the Automag (and I LOVES me some Automag...I own an Automag II and the original .44 Automag is on my bucket list), it shouldn't have made the "best semiautomatic handgun on the planet" list. The gun was designed more for hunting, but didn't really fit well into that category for a small handful of reasons. It didn't scope easily, for one. And it's too big and cumbersome to be of use as a practical concealed carry weapon...or even open carry, for that matter.
Beautiful...and one that I'll have myself one day. But not deserving of a "best on the planet" title.
But whatever...any article on guns is entertaining to read.
