PO1 William "Chip" Nagel - Thanks for the great post and background on the situation in Kansas regarding the school system. I really don't understand this idea of cutting school funding in any state, red or blue. It makes absolutely zero sense. The students in school today are the workers of tomorrow. They are the ones who will be responsible for ensuring US businesses are profitable. They will also be the future investors pumping more and more money into investments. These two actions will have a very positive impact on all of us who will be retired and living off of retirement accounts. That is if they are well educated. Poor education leads to lower income and less profits for corporations, especially as we get more and more technologically advanced. Lower income and less profits leads to less investment growth. Less investment growth leads to a smaller retirement.

Plus we have a moral obligation to the current generation of students. Many previous generations of Americans paid significantly more in taxes so that we could receive a good education. It is time for the current generations of american workers to pay that forward to the next generation of workers who are still in school or will be attending school in the near future.
