The F22's mission was to provide unparalleled air superiority.
The B2's was to slip behind the enemy's defenses and deliver a nuclear package.
The SR71's was to provide the most comprehensive surveillance package ever seen.

Multi role, multi platform, multi national program. First of its kind, VTOL, STOL and conventional. Can operate from ships and shore alike. It is an amazing platform that will be the lowest cost to operate and maintain out of modern air craft. But like politics these days if you hate them you hate them no matter the facts.
