It is against the 63 million people who voted for the man. What's the rush? Are you afraid the democrats can't put up a viable candidate within the next 11 months?

I know, I know, you aren't a democrat, but you'll vote for a commie-socialist just to spite Trump and the will of the electorate. A true conservative who believes in the US Constitution specifically, Article. IV. Section. IV. "The United States shall guarantee to every State in this Union a Republican Form of Government, and shall protect each of them against Invasion" would never vote for anyone who's actions and platforms are taken almost verbatim from karl marx.

That invasion part can be foreign or domestic and any vote going for someone espousing socialism who doesn't understand REPUBLIC should never hold a seat in public office, period. I value my oath, do you?

Capt Gregory Prickett - Greg, Constitutional news flash. It doesn't matter who gets the most votes. It matters who wins the EC. Most people don't want him removed, the polls have moved against impeachment, his popularity numbers are up some and the democrats are ensuring he will be reelected. You know it and I know it. The dems have overplayed a very weak hand.

Cpl Jeff N. - the claim that the polls have moved to oppose impeach is false, what is known as "fake news." The latest poll was 52% to impeach and remove, to 42% retain, a 10% difference. Before that, the margins were +8, +6, +2, even, +9, +8, even, +7. Where, exactly, have the polls shown opposition to impeachment?

Second, you've repeatedly said that Trump had a mandate from the people--which he did not have. If you want I can quote mine all of those silly statements how the people wanted Trump--which they did not.

Capt Gregory Prickett - And yet there he is, President of the United States. The popular vote is meaningless for the president.

Merry Christmas Greg, all the best to you and yours this holiday season.

Capt Gregory Prickett - In a democratic republic such as ours, the will of the people of the several states is revealed through the electoral college. The race for president is not a "national election" in the truest sense of the word. It is 50 state elections with each state having a set number of electors which is the same as the house seats plus the two senators they have in the US Congress. Don't act like you don't know that is how this all works.

Cpl Jeff N. - I know exactly how it's done, and I also know the terms of art in political science. The terms you are using, involving the people, are used by those who normally support direct democracy. For example, when the Democratic were pushing to end the representation of the several states, they used the term to support the passage of the Seventeenth Amendment.

Had I known early that you weren't using the term properly, likely because you didn't understand it, I would have taken the time to explain it to you.
