I like numbers as much, maybe more, than many. I frequently see comparisons of numbers of flu deaths vs COVID-19 deaths. The comparison of the number dead of one and the other is like comparing Pres. Harrison's record to that of FDR. The numbers I look at is percent to total with H1N1 at .02% and so far COVID-19 is 1.8%. Is our response over the top? I don't know yet since the base for Corona Virus is so small. We will know more when it is all said and done. The old saying seems to apply.....better safe than sorry

Maj John Bell - I can only deal with the known. The rest is mere speculation. I will leave the guess work to others

Sgt Bob Leonard - "...those infected, who experience little to no symptoms, are still carriers." Yes the infected may number much more than we know. But the number we have a good handle on is the dead. That serves to make me think the mortality rate is much lower than the 1.8% offered by SP5 Dennis Loberger

“ Only 8.1% of cases were 20-somethings, 1.2% were teens, and 0.9% were 9 or younger. The World Health Organization mission to China found that 78% of the cases reported as of Feb. 20 were in people ages 30 to 69.”

The death toll skews old even more strongly. Overall, China CDC found, 2.3% of confirmed cases died. But the fatality rate was 14.8% in people 80 or older, likely reflecting the presence of other diseases, a weaker immune system, or simply worse overall health. By contrast, the fatality rate was 1.3% in 50-somethings, 0.4% in 40-somethings, and 0.2% in people 10 to 39.

25% of the population will still vote for him, regardless of anything else - at all. That's generally enough to win again.
