Crisis of Leadership: Republican Voters Denounce Trump’s Coronavirus Failure

Seriously. He is sick, abnormal, and evil. What decent person, when confronted with 1.2 million cases and 70,000 deaths would congratulate himself? The GOP helped and facilitated a monster when the GOP Senators decided to bail him out by not impeaching him.

What is excruciating to witness is he is supported after an infinite number of lies, attacks, caustic leadership, blaming others, corrupting the government to be bent to his will, breaking the constitutional law of funding, and grandiose self flattery of being a genius in so many fields. Many Americans look the other way, so now we have this monster leading our country.

I am dumbfounded. Many of us live by these values: Loyalty, Duty, Respect, Selfless service, Honor, Integrity, and Personal courage; but some people find it acceptable that it does not apply to Trump. I don't get it. I will never understand it. He has no compassion or empathy. My disgust knows no boundaries.

I'm distrustful of rote partisanship in any form... regardless of which party it's associated with. There are public figures whom, if run against the President, secured the nomination... that I'd prefer to vote for. However, as that is next thing to impossible... I'm simply faced with the fact that I will not, under any circumstances, vote Democrat in the upcoming election. Trump has his successes and failures. No, I do not consider the man a great "statesman"; he's no great "defender" of ethical or moral values. Frankly, I fear the constant pressure he's under is beginning to chip away at a few of his most defensible qualities. However, there's NO ONE on the Democrat side whom, in my estimation, offers anything better... and possibly far worse. In my opinion, all the DNC is offering are varying levels of progressive socialism, abandonment of traditional values, and increased government control of the population. It also doesn't help that they clearly seem willing to run which ever long-toothed potentate who's "turn" it is at bat... even when opposed by a significant portion of their base. If some people have lost confidence in the CIC for his handling of this crisis... I'm not sure these same people would've embraced a 90-day complete "lock down" had any leader proposed it when it made any sense to do so. If they've lost faith in him due to temper tantrums, ramblings, etc... all that confirms for me is that they took little time to study who they voted for during the last election. For myself, the next election; not unlike the previous one, is about one thing... preventing the furtherance of the Progressive platform. That will give the GOP four more years to get their act together and come up with someone who genuinely combines the best attributes of statesman, diplomat, and economist. My personal preference is a "Mattis/Crenshaw" ticket, but I think I may have to settle for a "Cruze/???" option.
