I hunted for years with a Remington 760 in 30-06. Took quite a few deer with it. Then I started hunting on Air Force bases and only a shotgun was allowed.
When I stopped hunting I hadn't really used the 30-06 much so I sold it and now own a Mossberg MVP flex in .556. If #2 son ever gets his hunters safety course done and gets a hunting license, I will probably use it and see how effective it is on deer. I have a number of friends that have taken deer with a .556, so I will give it a go.

If you can see your way out to Western Ok, we can get you on a Deer hunt and then put you on a Trout trip at the same time frame.
