That's not the Air Force I enlisted in back in '65. Where's the mud, barb wire and old Army M-1. Maybe I just did the course after a rain. Lol. Seriously though a shoutout of thanks for protecting our butts at Danang, Cam Ranh Bay, and many other bases back then.

All true except #3. We didn't get any coins when graduating from OCS, but we had to give a silver dollar to the first enlisted man that saluted us. Some of the smarter enlisted men positioned themselves right and cleaned up on graduation day.

My best friend spent a career in the Air Force. He and another friend told me that one of the most challenging things about Air Force basic training was having their underwear folded correctly for inspection. My other friend bought new underwear throughout basic training and threw his used underwear away rather than deal with having to wash it and fold it.
