I have a problem with Point 3. Certainly a head shot might stop a drugged assailant, that's asking a bit much in a self defense scenario. Goes back to what my wife told me about 9mm. He doesn't mention the "Out of sight" factor of a .22 pistol.

The best self defense firearm is one you can consistently hit the target with. Many scoff at the 22 LR as a self defense weapon. One of the worst cases i was involved with in the operating room was a guy shot once with a 22. He came to the OR with a surgery resident giving open heart massage. After 2 hours, the surgeons still could not stop all the bleeding. The round fragmented and bounced around the chest cavity. He didn't make it.

This goes back to what an old gunsmith/retired SGM told me: The best caliber handgun for self defense is the one you have with you.
