I would be barking mad too. The Congress critters, had it not been for the few Capitol Police officers that there were, could have been murdered by the insurrectionists.

Capt Gregory Prickett: The House impeached the President while he was still in office. The articles were ready to go to the Senate but it was not in session and not slated to go into session until the day before the inauguration; however, the Senate could have been brought back into session if McConnell and Schumer agreed. Schumer called McConnell regarding this but McConnell refused to bring the Senate back in session while the President was still in office. McConnell then delivers a speech on the Senate floor about how the President incited the riots, etc. but he now says that no trial can be held since the President is no longer in the office. The hypocrisy and shenanigans of procedural maneuvers is galling but not unexpected from this Congress critter. Basically, he is saying go ahead and commit whatever crimes you want just prior to leaving the office and you can't have an impeachment trial once you are out of office. This is so stupid and the precedent it sets is scary.

Patricia Overmeyer - If I were Schumer, I would take McConnell aside and explain that I'm about to change the committee process, where only Democrats are assigned to the committees, and explain that not a single GOP sponsored bill would be considered so long as the GOP members refuse to hold people accountable. Let him know that SCOTUS is going to expand to 15 members, with Biden appoint 6 new justices, and that the lower courts will be expanded in a similar manner. Let both Paul and McConnell know that all appropriations for Kentucky will be strictly scrutinized, as will appropriations for Texas and Missouri, and other states that support the insurrectionists.

The Dems won't likely do it, but playing hardball is the only way to go.

I object to Rand Paul and his Ayn Rand objectivist philosophy. He doesn't even believe in government let alone governance.

CPT Jack Durish - Oh, I listened to it. I have heard it for the last four years. President Trump has run rough shod over the Republican party for the last 5 years. I say 5 years because he has stomped on every value the Republicans ever subscribed to since he walked down that escalator in 2015. The only Republican who actually stood up to him was John McCain who I have always highly respected. Yet, President Trump famously said
(or infamously said) "John McCain was not a war hero" and "I like guys that weren't captured". I will not genuflect to "Cadet Bone Spurs", a title given to him by Tammy Duckworth what lost both legs in combat. The audacity of a man who knows absolutely nothing of the sacrifices some have made. He may have fooled a lot of veterans with his fake obsequiousness toward veterans, but he did not fool many of us "suckers" and "losers" who volunteered to serve. Do you know how many osteochondromas I have? Look at any x-ray I have ever had, and you will find plenty of them. What President Trump never understood is that John McCain was SHOT down in combat. He did not give up, quit, or claim a medical out. Now we have Mattis and Kelly speaking out about the true President Trump. Trump likes the terms winner and loser. He will never admit he lost. In 2016, he claimed the election was rigged if he lost, yet he won - no complaints. He said the same thing in 2020, if he lost, it was rigged. Well he lost, and he provoked his base into thinking the election was rigged. He will never admit he lost because that would make him loser. He claimed victory on election night knowing that all the votes were not counted. He claimed voter fraud even though none was found or could be proven. Look at that disgrace on January 6, and tell me he is guilt free of instigating that mess. Listen to what he was telling that audience. Listen to what the mob was saying, parroting Trump's words. Ted Cruz, whose own wife was denigrated by President Trump in 2016, defended that nonsense about a rigged election. If I commit a crime as a teacher on January 6, 2021, are you saying I can't be prosecuted because I retired on January 20, 2021? Get real.

Cpl Tou Lee Yang uh, no. Bud, you're deranged. I get the feeling like you're either taking drugs you shouldn't or not taking drugs you should be. Either way, you should take care of that, kiddo.

SGT Joseph Gunderson - are you claiming that "the orange pathological lying pile of shit is qualified to lead a business [or] a nation"? Can you provide support for that?

Capt Gregory Prickett qualified? I don't think we've had a qualified president in decades, maybe even centuries. Capable, his policies are enough proof of that. Hate the man on a personal level, and I'm not his biggest fan by any means, but his policies were quite often fantastic.
