Chaplain’s Facebook post denigrating transgender troops under investigation by Army

This is a minefield I'm glad I escaped (I didn't have to go but a few steps past the warning sign). My first action as a Company Commander was being introduced to a Transgender soldier of mine, I never new he was Transgender (Female to Male), and I was drilling with him for a few years.
When planning for a field exercise, notification of this soldier's needs were pushed up, and the BC with ownership of the shower equipment was going to park themselves outside the showers to make sure the soldier was not harassed by anyone of any rank. A great deal of time and oversight was focused on this one soldier's needs in face of planning an entire event.
President Trump shortly took office thereafter, the soldier's ETS quickly followed, and when the separation packet was submitted it was approved, signed, and orders published the following morning. I've never seen any other discharge take less than months. Favoritism/Bias was avoided because two other discharges were submitted along with his, and all three were published equally fast.
His attendance was avoided at the FTX.
The BIGGEST THING that worried me for the soldier was the political leverage the LGBT community was trying to get out of him. I honestly did want him to say, and he just wasn't having any of Trump. The LGBT community was quick to use him as a poster boy.
It was a significant distraction and a ginormous house of cards waiting to collapse on me. I personally do value the experience of something to be aware of when taking command over others and one of the many sensitive issues that have to be dealt with gently lest the swift arm of public and political opinion come crushing down on an otherwise inconsequential USAR unit and it's leadership.
