In my army (67–87)—which was less kind, less gentle, less considerate—we had a number of quotes to cover situations like this. Perhaps the most appropriate was, "Don't go writing checks with your mouth that your ass can't cover." The kid was obnoxious up until the moment he struck the vet, then he raised things to another level. This young man is sadly lacking in judgment; what if he tried his routine out on the street and the person he was hassling had a knife or gun. Maybe he felt that after all the yelling shouting he would lose face by backing down; nothing like the face he lost getting his ass whipped by a 67-year old on a viral video.
