The Maybach powered a lot of the German Heavy Tanks (Panther, Jagdpanther, Tiger II & Jagdtiger ). As the tanks got bigger and heavier the Maybach was on the small size at 690 HP/1850 Nm Torque) for something pushing 70 Tons. More info can be found here: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tiger_II

It seems as they got bigger a and more complex they broke down more and used more fuel. I read many times they were logistical nightmares as they had to be shipped to German factories to be repaired.
Often the country that loses the war has faced attrition due to enemy action or inability keep up production to keep fighting. I will illustrate Germany. In North Africa the Germans ran out of tanks and fuel. In Russia they ran out of everything. In the Battle of the Bulge they ran out of fuel. They also ran out of good pilots because we killed them.

Several things come to mind with this...never get slave labor to build your tanks. Never use the same engine design over and over. Doesn't matter how big you build it, I can build more smaller ones.
