Interesting how the benefits change over time. In 1922, Calvin Coolidge was concerned about how he was going to afford personally funding the Whitehouse staff and funding the grocery budget when foreign leadership stopped in.
It was a simpler time but the understanding was that the President's job is that of public service, not to be served by the public.
