My wife went to University as an "older adult" for her BSN. The number one irritant she experienced was cheating. Some of her younger classmates had no problem cheating in every way possible on tests. Many professors passively supported cheating by having graduate assistants administer tests. The profs and Grad Assistants didn't bother to properly proctor the tests. They often stuck their face in a book or their phone while the students completed the tests. No attempt was made to catch cheaters. Because the school had many minority-group students, the professors were hesitant--dare I say afraid--to fail a non-white student. The guy who graduated at the top of her class had cheated on every test according to the wife. In the end it only hurt the cheating students and their future patients. Cheat sheets usually aren't available to nurses dealing with critically ill patients. When their knowledge is lacking the patients suffer--sad.
