Interesting. Can't disagree, but would like to add two: KP and Security. Having civilians perform these seemingly mundane tasks makes sense at one level, but what happens when the DEFCON goes up (if that term is even still used) and civilians are sent home or when units deploy and there are no civilians to do these jobs? Military units need to be self sufficient in every condition and in every place.
