SpaceX INSANE NEW Plan To Visit Mars in 2024!

We all know that the 'space' game plan (at least by SpaceX & Elon Musk) is to create a Mars base and eventually create a Mars based civilization... The plan is NOT INSANE, it is realistic, but there are questions that need to be resolved. Here are a few of those questions and I am sure there are many other questions than what I have added...

Questions:
Is it doable? I personally believe it is.

Will it be difficult? Without a doubt.

Is 2024 realistic for a manned visit to Mars? That is only 3-years away, so no, I believe it is too aggressive.

Should cargo spacecraft bring life sustaining habitats and supplies ahead of a manned visit to Mars? No doubt in my mind that is the way to go... The more supplies and means of sustaining life, the better.

Will this be a one-way trip for some? In my view some will expire for any number of reasons due to the risks involved... It happened in the middle ages when ships set sailed for "The New World", both during the trip and after reaching landfall across the Atlantic Ocean and after... I know of no way around this fact.
