First-term Dickinson council member and member of the State Republican Executive Committee H. Scott Apley died Wednesday of complications from COVID-19.
According to a GoFundMe page set up by a family friend, the 45-year-old was admitted into the hospital on Sunday for pneumonia-like symptoms, tested positive for COVID-19, and was placed on a ventilator.
On Wednesday around 3 a.m., Apley died from complications with the virus, according to the GoFundME page. Apley’s wife, Melissa, also tested positive for COVID-19 but was not hospitalized. He also leaves behind an infant son, Reid.
Five days before his death, Apley shared a post to his Facebook with a meme mocking COVID-19 and the vaccine.
“In six months, we’ve gone from ‘The vax ending the pandemic’ to ‘You can still get COVID even if vaxxed’ to ‘You can still pass COVID onto others even if vaxxed’ to ‘You can still die of COVID even if vaxxed’ to ‘The unvaxxed are killing the vaxxed,’” the image read.

No one likes getting shots, I know I don't but I did get both Covid 19 shots and You do what You can to protect Yourself from any disease. Are they a 100% guarantee ? No but Your chances increase to avoid an illness as opposed to doing nothing. I took my advice when and if to get the shots however from MY family physician and NOT the Federal Government whom at this point I have very little trust in. Some basic things such as washing my hands, covering when sneezing or coughing I did anyway as everyone should have been doing and not have to be told to take those basic health precautions to protect Yourself and others.

PO1 William "Chip" Nagel - I spent a full year in Vietnam and never even had a cold there but with all the shots I got I think they must have covered every disease known to mankind. I couldn't even guess how m any shots I've had in the course of a lifetime.
