The general rudeness and crassness of society is evidence of it's deconstruction. We think so little of others now that rudeness, profanity, disrespect, violence and other poor behavior are on the rise. Some will say that manners and etiquette change over time. They really do not, what changes is our ability to maintain standards of behavior that make a polite society work.

It is easier to let standards slip than to uphold them, the path of least resistance takes over until all we see around us is behavior of the lowest common denominator. I is not as bad as it could be yet but that is the direction we are going until something snaps. I don't know what that will be or even if it will happen.

Jeff, you are so right. It is easier to let them slip than to maintain them.

It is more prevenet , now and people no longet make a big deal about it.

Have you considered why it is so offensive to you, or why our Rocketry does not blink if a charter shoots five people on a TV show but if he curses the are howling at the FCC to do some thing

Other than offending some, what harm does that language do? If you don't mind it will not matter

Maybe... I don't want to put too fine a point on it but when I came back on leave from Korea I was dropping the f bomb every third word or so. That was 30 years or so ago.

Now I don't use that word unless I accidentally break a lightbulb with my head (true story). I'm just too busy yelling at kids to get off my lawn.
