Most of these are skilled positions...not everyone qualifies. My other comment is that fortunately, not everyone wants or does well with remote jobs.

Good morning ma'am. You are right working independently and being successful requires a mindset most don't have.

I've had highly skilled employees that are perfect for fully remote work. You give them complex problems to solve and they work on their own and check in when needed. As the leader, my responsibility was to coordinate several of those folks working together on a project. In my last corporate job, my team members were top notch and capable of doing this with little supervision. But you are right, not everyone is cut out for that lightly supervised work.

Just be careful that you aren't projecting your own personality onto others. I've watched plenty of people go remote and have more interaction than they did with in-person jobs. Some people can't handle the isolation, but others have adapted to the technology that allows them to interact while not being physically together. Many of us work or have worked in jobs where our coworkers were hundreds or thousands of miles apart and we made it work well.
Personally, I like the ability to work together in person part of the time, but the freedom to work where ever I want the rest of the time. My business partner and I have employees who excel at remote work and other who are too easily distracted to work outside the office. We are still mostly an in-office company because of the latter. We are working toward a hybrid work model, though.
