"“America First” is an anti-democracy movement. It is an extremist movement that takes its name from the 1930s global fascist cause birthed by Mussolini and claimed by Adolph Hitler. The Nazis who filled Madison Square Garden in 1939 would have all proclaimed themselves patriots and adherents of the “America First” philosophy in their time. They excitedly raised their arms in the fascist salute towards the giant banner of George Washington flanked by swastikas and American flags – just as their descendants scream in exultation with their red hats for Trump, their leader."

Vanguard America (VA) is a white nationalist, neo-Nazi group that opposes the idea of a multicultural America and has propagated an extremist, incendiary platform targeting African Americans, immigrants, Jews, and other minorities. Founded in 2014, the group primarily operates online, though its website was suspended in August 2017 by its Internet service provider.
The site later returned, but now redirects to the online home of VA breakaway group Patriot Front.
As exemplified by its slogan of "blood and soil," VA ties national identity with racial identity. The group believes that the United States is meant exclusively for the white nation.
In December 2016, authorities discovered VA fliers posted on the University of Maryland campus.
During the 2016-2017 school year, the Anti-Defamation League discovered 32 incidents of VA propaganda on university campuses in Arkansas, California, Florida, Indiana, Maryland, New Jersey, Oregon, Texas, Virginia, and Washington. The group also organizes public rallies in conjunction with other white supremacist groups.

Chat messages, images, and videos leaked from the server of a white supremacist group called Patriot Front purport to show its leader and rank-and-file members conspiring in hate crimes, despite their claims that they are a legitimate political organization.
Patriot Front, or PF, formed in the aftermath of the 2017 Unite the Right rally in Charlottesville, Virginia, in which one attendee rammed his car into a crowd of counterprotesters, killing one and injuring 35 others.
PF founder Thomas Rousseau started the group after an image posted online showed the now-convicted killer, James Alex Fields Jr., posing with members of white supremacist group Vanguard America shortly before the attack.
Vanguard America soon dissolved, and Rousseau rebranded it as PF with the goal of hiding any involvement in violent acts.
