So if anyone was wondering if the offshore shipping congestion problem was solved yet—no.
As of several days ago (7/28/22), there were 153 container vessels stalled, the majority off the East and Gulf Coast ports. The earlier West Coast pileup in Jan/Feb with 150 ships was centralized, highly publicized and relatively easy to track, but this current ship queue is more widely disbursed and attracting less attention. FYI, When Donald Trump was president in 2020, the price to ship a container from Asia to California was $3,800. That price spiked to $17,000 in October of 2021.

Now off the east and gulf coast? Last the media bothered to cover was the mess on the west coast which is probably still there...Buttigieg is too busy campaigning for governor to pay attention to his actual job
