Agree all can apply in private and public employment. However, "6. Learn how to say no" doesn't work well in the military. You seldom can say no to a meeting, project assignment, or even an after-duty-hours social event. Particularly true of officers wanting to advance their careers rapidly. Golf or tennis with a senior officer isn't something you say no to. Additional duties make your OER competitive when you're "just a pilot"--fortunately the current USAF Chief of Staff is trying to change this.
