The largest military pay raise in decades is coming in 2023 for active-duty troops as part of the annual defense authorization bill expected to be approved by Congress this month.
Under the plan, active-duty troops and drilling Guard and reserve members will receive a 4.6% pay raise, the largest bump in 20 years. The 2022 military pay raise sat at 2.7%.

Not sure who to thank for this, normally its a Republican Congress that gives our active duty folks the best pay raises.

MSgt Dale Johnson COLAs (cost of living adjustments) began under Nixon in 1972. The 'pay raise' is nothing but a COLA due to Bidenflation.

One of the reasons for the reduced COLA is they do not include fuel and food in the calculations.
