Where do these types of morons come from and how do they keep getting elected? It tells Chicago, and perhaps all of Illinois vote party line above everything. Consequences be damned.

If so, they get, and got, the government they deserve.

Great, well there are NOT any people living currently that were even slaves within the United States, the actual former slaves died of old age many years back. Yes, slavery was wrong and their is no defense for that happening to any human being but the victims are long gone. NO one is entitled to any compensation for events well before their own lifetime where You can succeed or fail by choosing Your own path !

It's always about directly giving people money, not enabling them or their community to be successful. All to maintain a base of voters. Those that seek and take this money are in no way helping themselves in the long run. In fact, one could say they are turning themselves into slaves, to the politicians that keeps promising them money instead of actually trying to build a better community. These politicians in turn ignore their duty to enforce the law, protect citizens, and invest in economic improvements. Once that politician runs out of ideas to pay them off, those people then look to the next one who will take it a step further and dig deeper into the city's / state's / nation's tax revenue. This is modern day slavery, and it extends beyond race.
