So I see deals like this on YouTube that seem to be too good to be true. The house looks in good shape but you can also see fairly substantial settling cracks on the video tour. It's in the middle of nowhere in Maine so perhaps that is why it is so cheap? Just curious has having no past experience with old Victorian houses, are they horrendously expensive to maintain? This one looks like it needs a little fixing up with fresh paint and restoration but seems to be in reasonable shape.

I saw that house a couple of weeks ago through another social media outlet. Very nice house, and at a great price, but it needs some work. Plus, it's located in a small town in a remote part of Maine. It would be great for someone looking to relax in a quiet and sleepy town once retired, or maybe for someone who is able to work remotely and wants the quiet life while living way up north.

We have an older house (but definitely not that old). You'd need to check for foundational issues (settling, cracking, erosion, etc.), plus you'll want to check into what type of wiring it has (may not be set up for modern appliances and electronics). Definitely check for animal infestation. I'd also check into its elevation (flood zone, considering it is near a river or creek). The roof looks like it's in good condition.
