But Democrats said it's okay and a violation of their civil rights to ask for ID when your present yourself to vote. How do they know that you are who you say you are? This just protects certain people and it's not just not ethnic groups. There are many illegal aliens from all over the world and some may try to vote in the United States. From what I understand, the title is misleading. Those 9 states' ID card format don't meet the federal standard. Whether they'll change that in time, as the article states, we'll have to wait to see. One thing the article doesn't mention is the ~6-month turnaround for passport applications.
